Fees

  • Tuition€12,500 per year

Tuition applies to non-EU/EEA students. EU/EEA citizens pay none. Figures are as published by the university and are confirmed with you in writing before you commit to anything.

  • Student€9,600

  • Second child€5,760

This is only proof that you have sufficient funds. Amounts are subject to the latest Finnish immigration rules and are re-checked each January.

What the programme is

This is a top-up, not a first nursing degree. It takes a qualification you already hold and builds it into a Finnish bachelor's, which is the qualification the Finnish system recognises.

Metropolia sits in the Helsinki metropolitan area, which matters more than any brochure line: it is where part-time work, clinical placements and staying on after graduation are easiest.

Two groups are recruited separately. Degree holders come in with a BSc Nursing. Diploma holders come in with an ANM or GNM taken after 12th. The entry route differs; the degree at the end is the same.

Before you commit

Placements are with Finnish-speaking patients. Finnish language study is part of the degree and it is not decoration — students who arrive expecting to finish without functional Finnish struggle in placement. We would rather tell you now than after you have paid.

Questions

About this programme

If you hold a BSc Nursing degree, Group 1. If you hold an ANM or GNM diploma taken after 12th, Group 2. If you are unsure which your qualification counts as, send us the certificate and we will tell you.
It is estimated. Metropolia confirms the start date once the cohort is formed, and the tuition figure with it. We will not pretend a date is fixed when the university has not fixed it.
The degree is the qualification route. Registration is decided by Valvira, the national supervisory authority, on its own criteria. We can explain the process; we cannot promise the outcome.
